Who we are? The initiators behind Challenging Walls are
composed of young artists who were raised, exposed and have had the experience of growing up and
living in an environment of wall divided societies. We are firm believers that art is a
universal language for communication and has the great power to create an all access zone between
the concrete cement separating both geographical spaces and people.
What we are doing? We tell stories about the lives of the people in the wall challenged nations using photographs. In the process of documenting the daily rituals, practices and way of life, we confront reality.
We collaborate with scientists and involve them into the artistic process. Thus, we create awareness about the wall-attached societies and find new approaches where there is no communication.
How we want to be known/recognised? We would like the people in Israel/Palestine and the rest of the world to know that CW is here to raise questions and continually challenge the ways of thinking about the divisions brought by existing physical walls that give birth to mental walls.
CW is an active facilitator and platform that brings people together through their similar as well as diverse life experiences brought by the physical and mental divides.
